Chris Hemsworth says he has shot so many films in London recently that it has become like a second home.

Hemsworth is back on the big screen this week as he reprises the role of Thor in Thor: The Dark World - the first time we have seen him return to this part since the success of Avengers Assemble.

And the actor spent a big chunk of time in London whilst shooting as part of the movie is sent in the UK's capital.

Speaking to Collider the actor said: "London is kind of becoming that way [my second home]. It's just the last few films have been kind of rolled into one another. It's a great place to work.

"There are some of the best crews in the world, brilliant locations and it's nice to get out of LA and go somewhere different."

It has already been a very successful year for Hemsworth with Rush being a huge critical success at the beginning of September.

The movie saw him take on the role of Formula 1 racing driver James Hunt, in a movie about the rivalry between Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Hemsworth will be returning to the role of Thor at the beginning of next year as filming on The Avengers: Age of Ultron gets under way - they will be filming in Shepperton.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will bring to a close Marvel's Phase Two of films in the summer of 2015.

Thor: The Dark World is released 30th October.
