Ben Affleck is going to 'kill it' as Batman according to Colin Farrell.
Farrell has thrown his support behind the casting of Affleck as Bruce Wayne in Batman vs Superman, after the pair worked together on Daredevil.
Speaking to TotalFilm.com, the actor said: "I always enjoyed watching him, as a director he's extraordinary too, but his work in 'The Town' and 'Argo', he was so fantastic in both those films. In 'Argo', it was such a controlled performance.
"I think he'll kill it as 'Batman'. I hope he does and shuts the naysayers up."
The casting of Affleck was heavily criticised by fans when it was announced towards the back end of last year.
Batman vs Superman will be the sequel to Man of Steel, and will be the first time we have seen Bruce Wayne on the big screen since The Dark Knight Rises.
The movie will see Affleck team up with Henry Cavill, as he reprises the role of Clark Kent. Zack Snyder will also be back in the director's chair.
And Farrell has wished his former co-star all the best in his new high profile role: "Good luck to him. I think he'll do a great job.
"As an actor, I don't know that I know anyone that's improved as much as he has. That sounds like a s**t thing to say."
