I have been looking forward to Crimson Peak ever since it was announced that Guillermo del Toro was returning to the director's chair... and a new set of character posters for the film have arrived.
I have been a huge fan of del Toro for years with movies such as The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth, and Hellboy under his belt. Now he is returning to the gothic horror genre with Crimson Peak and I really cannot wait to see what he delivers.
The director has assembled a terrific cast as Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam are all set to star and they all feature in these great new posters:
Hunnam has worked with del Toro before on Pacific Rim, while Chastain starred in horror film Mama, which del Toro produced. However, Wasikowska and Hiddleston - who is a big favourite here at FemaleFirst - will be working with the filmmaker for the first time.
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds... and remembers.
As well as being in the director's chair, del Toro has penned the screenplay with Matthew Robbins and it promises to be a dark and creepy watch.
There are some many terrific movies on the horizon this autumn and Crimson Peak is one that you cannot miss and could well be the standout horror movie of 2015.
Crimson Peak is released 16th October.
