Dan Stevens

Dan Stevens has revealed that he was training for four hours a day as he got into shape for The Guest.

The Guest sees the actor play a former American solider, and he teamed up with a US special ops team in a bid to get into the best shape he could for the role.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the actor said: "For a month, I was training about four hours a day. I was quite grateful they weren't all built like brick s**thouses.

"They were very lean and athletic, which people wouldn't necessarily associate with me.

"I put in some hard work at the gym and I got myself there or thereabouts."

The Guest is the first time that we have seen Stevens on the big screen since The Fifth Estate, and is one of the biggest movie roles of his career to date.

The movie sees the actor team up with Adam Wingard for the first time, and he returns to the director's chair.

And we are going to be seeing plenty of Stevens on the big screen this year, as he has also completed work on The Cobbler, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.

The Guest is released 5th September.
