Mays starred in the movie adaptation of the British TV sitcom, released last month, as wheeler-dealer Private Walker and insists he'd be interested in making a sequel if the screenwriters came up with a stellar script.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Jameson Empire Awards in London on Sunday (20.03.16), he said: "I think it's done very well at the box office, I had the best time making it with all those fabulous actors. Who knows, if they come through with another script I'll have to take a look."

Mays appeared opposite Hollywood beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones as Rose Winters, Blake Harrison as hapless Private Frank Pike, and legendary actors Sir Michael Gambon, Sir Tom Courtenay, Bill Nighy and Toby Parker as Private Godfrey, Corporal Jones, Sergeant Wilson and Captain Mainwaring respectively.

The film is based on the famous BBC comedy series which ran from 1968 to 1977 and is set during World War II, focusing on the home guard left behind to protect Britain from potential Nazi attacks.

And Mays was delighted to be a part of the movie that he thinks captured the "nostalgia" of the original series.

He said: "It seems to have captured the charm of the original TV show and it has all that nostalgic British 1970s humour."
