Starring Emily Beecham in the titular role, alongside Geraldine James and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Daphne is the story of a 31-year-old witty and charismatic woman who’s living in modern-day London. Though at times she seems to have the whole world at her feet, at others she can be scatty and self-destructive; in short, she’s one of the most relatable female characters on the big screen.

Navigating modern living and caught in the rush of living in a big city, Daphne will showcase how the woman herself can be the life of the party, but often too busy to question whether or not she’s actually happy.

When a violent incident stalls her existence, her grip on her behaviour begins to loosen and a new question arises; will the event see her sink altogether, or find a new purpose?

As well as the newly-released trailer above, a brand new poster has been revealed for Daphne, which you can check out below:

As the first feature film by Scottish director Peter Mackie Burns, and with Nico Mensinga serving for the first time as a writer alongside producers Tristan Goligher and Valentina Brazzini, there are some big expectations and a lot of curiosity surrounding Daphne. We for one cannot wait to see everything that the film has to offer when it makes its official debut in movie theatres at the end of next month.

Daphne hits cinemas across the UK on September 29, 2017.
