Charlize Theron is set to return to the big screen this week as she leads the cast in new thriller Dark Places.

Dark Places

Dark Places is the second of Gillian Flynn's novels to be adapted into a movie and comes hot off the heels of the success of Gone Girl. Theron is set to take on the central role of Libby Day as she teams up with filmmaker Gilles Paquet-Brenner for the first time.

This is the first film for Paquet-Brenner since the terrific Sarah's Key; he has also brought us films such as Walled In and Payoff. As well as being in the director's chair, Paquet-Brenner has also adapted Flynn's novel into a screenplay.

Dark Places will be released tomorrow and have two great new clips for you to take a look at:

A terrific cast has been assembled as Theron stars alongside Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Sean Bridgers.

Libby Day (Theron) was only eight years old when her family was brutally murdered in their rural Kansas farmhouse. Almost thirty years later, she agrees to revisit the crime and uncovers the wrenching truths that led up to that tragic night, but what happens when you try to find light in dark places?

Dark Places is released in UK cinemas tomorrow.
