We are big fans of Charlize Theron here at FemaleFirst and are looking forward to seeing her return to the big screen in new crime thriller Dark Places.

Dark Places

Dark Places

Dark Places is the second of Gillian Flynn's novels to be adapted for the big screen in the last year, and sees Gilles Paquet-Brenner in the director's chair.

Paquet-Brenner has brought us movies liked Payoff and Walled In during his career, but this is his first film since Sarah's Key with Kristen Scott Thomas back in 2009.

The brand new international trailer for the movie has been released and we have it for you to take a look at - really looking forward to seeing this when it's released:

Theron takes on the central role of Libby Day, who survived the brutal murder of her family when she was a child. She is joined on the cast list by Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Corey Stoll - it really is a terrific cast.

Dark Places tells the story of Libby Day, a woman who, at the age of 7, survives the massacre of her family and testifies against her brother as the murderer.

Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about the horrific event.

Dark Places is released later this year.
