Eva Green is reportedly in negotiations to star in Tim Burton's upcoming fantasy flick 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children', from the Ransom Riggs novel.

The 34-year-old actress Green is in talks to take on the lead role in the upcoming fantasy flick based on Ransom Riggs' novel of the same name, Variety reports.

'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' will be directed by 'Alice in Wonderland' filmmaker Tim Burton and will tell the story of a teenager who finds himself transported to an island where he must help protect a group of orphans with special powers from creatures out to destroy them.

Green - who worked under the direction of Burton in 2012 film 'Dark Shadows' - will play the title character, who acts as a guardian for the orphans, if she signs up for the project.

The 'Casino Royale' star last appeared on the big-screen in '300: Rise of an Empire' earlier this year and will next be seen in Robert Rodriguez's 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'.

The brunette beauty has also been starring in supernatural TV series 'Penny Dreadful' alongside Josh Hartnett and 'Quantum of Solace' and 'Skyfall' actor Rory Kinnear.

'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' is slated for release in August 2015.
