Finding Dory has returned to the top of the UK box office, ending the two-week reign of Suicide Squad.

This is the fourth wee that Finding Dory has sat at the top of the UK box office as it took a further £2.8 million over the weekend.

So far, the film has grossed over $916 million worldwide and is currently the fourth highest grossing film of 2016 so far.

Suicide Squad slipped just one spot as it let go of its hold on the number one spot. The movie took £2.5 million to comfortably hold off the challenge from David Brent: Life on the Road.

Despite the poor reviews, Suicide Squad has been a box office smash and has grossed over $577 million worldwide.

David Brent: Life on the Road was this week's highest new entry as the comedy opened at number three.

Not only does the movie sees Ricky Gervais reprise the character of David Brent, but the film sees the actor return to the director's chair.

Jason Bourne slipped a single place from three to four while The BFG was also down one spot this week at number five.

Horror film Lights Out was new in at number six. The movie is the directorial debut for David F. Sandberg while Teresa Palmer and Maria Bello are on the cast list

Disney film Pete's Dragon was another one place faller down at number seven.

Swallows and Amazon, which is a big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name, was new in at eight while Nine Lives was the fourth and final new entry this week at number nine.

Star Trek Beyond was just one place this week as it rounded off the top ten.
