Finding Dory, which is the sequel to Finding Nemo, took a further $73.2 million as it continues to win over audiences around the world.

So far, the movie has grossed nearly $400 million at the global box office and is on course to be another massive hit for Pixar.

Independence Day: Resurgence was the highest new entry on the chart this week, as the film opened at number two.

The movie comes twenty years after the success of Independence Day in 1996 and sees Roland Emmerich in the director's chair.

The film grossed over $41.6 million in its opening weekend on release in the U.S. - but it never got close to toppling Finding Dory.

Central Intelligence slipped a single place to number three while The Shallows and Free State of Jones were new in at number four and number five.

Both The Conjuring 2 and Now You See Me 2 fell out of the top five as they both dropped three places from three and four to six and seven.

X-Men: Apocalypse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows were both down two at eight and nine.

Alice Through The Looking Glass was also a two place faller as it rounded off the top ten.
