Actress Gal Gadot is learning Kung Fu and kickboxing in preparation for her role as Wonder Woman.

The 'Fast & Furious' star, who will take on the part in Warner Bros.' upcoming 'Man of Steel' sequel, has also been practising how to use swords and Jujutsu.

In an interview on Israeli chat show 'Good Evening with Gal Pines', she said: "It's the physical preparations that I'm starting now, a very serious training regime - Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, Jujutsu, Brazilian ... 10001 things. I'll gain body mass."

The 28-year-old model and actress was speaking for the first time about being cast in the superhero movie and said she was on her way to a job when she received the call.

She revealed: "My agent Hadas Lichtenstein called me. She says to me, 'Wonder Woman!' and I'm like, 'What?' - 'The role is yours ... and it's a secret and the news is not yet announced and you can't tell anyone'.

"I'm like, 'Are you serious?'- and we both scream! Now it's a plane from Israel to NT and I can't make loud noise, so I lean on a window, bending down to my legs and just try to understand."

Gal added: "Long story short, I was totally alone in NY. I got to a hotel at 12am and needed to wake up in the morning for shootings.

"I remember laying in the darkness by myself, staring at the ceiling, telling myself, 'It's not teal!' It shouldn't be like that, I'm supposed to be like, 'Where's the champagne?'"

The upcoming comic book film will see Henry Cavill reprise his role as Superman alongside Ben Affleck who will take on the role of caped crusader Batman and fans who have criticised Warner Bros. for not giving Wonder Woman her own film.

Zack Snyder's as-yet-untitled movie will be released on July 15, 2015.
