We haven't even been introduced to Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman yet, but filming on the solo movie is already under way.
Gadot is set to make her first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next year and the first solo Wonder Woman film will follow in 2017.
The movie will see Gadot team up with filmmaker Patty Jenkins for the first time in what will be her first feature film since Monster. Wonder Woman will only be the second feature film of Jenkins' career and it will most certainly be her biggest.
And while we are going to have quite a long wait until the solo Wonder Woman film, Gadot took to Twitter to show off the first image from the solo film:
To go with the image a new press release was issued by Warner Bros. revealed several new cast members as Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Ewan Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis are all also on board. Chris Pine is already on board as Steve Trevor.
Gadot will star alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jason Momoa next year in Dawn of Justice - which is already one of the most anticipated films of 2016 and will be one of the biggest comic book movies of the year.
Wonder Woman is released 23rd June 2017 in the U.S. - no UK release date has yet been announced.
Gadot is one of the most in demand actresses in Hollywood at the moment and she will be back on the big screen in the new year with crime/drama Triple 9 - where she will be part of another terrific ensemble cast. She has also completed work on Criminal.
