George Lucas To Make Avant-Garde Movies

George Lucas insists that he is not completely retiring.

It has been suggested earlier this year that Lucas was set to retire from the movie industry - however it looks like he is just leaving the big budget blockbusters behind.

Speaking to Metro the filmmaker said: "I keep telling everyone I'm sort of retiring.

"But I'm really going to go back to where I started, which is the more avant-garde filmmaking.

"I've made enough money so that I can finance it all myself. I don't have to worry or answer to anybody and I can just do whatever I want."

Lucas may have plans to tackle more 'avant-garde' movie but his greatest creation is back on the big screen this week.
