A mysterious new teaser clip from upcoming film release Ghost in the Shell has been revealed, promising that ‘those responsible will suffer’. A hooded man named Kuze delivers the message to the leaders and collaborators of the Hanka Corporation; check out the clip below:

Released yesterday, the promotional piece also came alongside a brand new poster showcasing the Kuze character in all his glory, in yet another stunning bit of material in support of the movie.

Ghost in the Shell tells the story of Major (Scarlett Johansson), a first-of-her-kind cyber-enhanced former human who was saved from a crash but given a completely different life. Now able to be the perfect soldier her creators have always looked for, she’s tasked with taking on some of the world’s most dangerous criminals.

With terrorism becoming an entirely different beast and those behind evil plots now able to hack into people’s minds and control them, Major is one of the only people uniquely qualified to step in and try and save humanity from oppression and dictatorship, but as she prepares to face her enemies, she discovers that her life was never saved – it was stolen.

Hoping to recover her past and find out who did this to her, Major will find herself a new mission; stopping those who turned her life upside down from doing the same thing to others.

Based on the internationally critically-acclaimed Manga of the same name, Ghost in the Shell is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year, but hasn’t come without its criticisms after it was announced a white woman – Johansson – would be stepping into the role of an Asian character.

Fans will vote with their pockets when the film hits cinemas across the world later this month. ‘Beat’ Takeshi Kitano, Michael Carmen Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Chin Han and Juliette Binoche also star.

Ghost in the Shell comes to UK cinemas and IMAX in 3D and 2D on March 30, 2017.
