Gone Girl is already one of the most talked about films of the year, as the Gillian Flynn novel has been adapted for the big screen.

David Fincher is back in the director's chair, while Flynn herself has adapted the novel into a screenplay.

Gone Girl is a movie that we are really looking forward to, and here is the first trailer to take a look at:

Ben Affleck takes on the central role of Nick Dunne, and is joined on the cast list by Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Missi Pyle and Scoot McNairy.

On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Pike), has gone missing.

Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble.

Soon his lies, deceits and strange behaviour has everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Fincher has made some terrifically tense movies during his career, and Gone Girl looks set to follow that fine tradition.

Gone Girl is released 3rd October.
