Harvey Weinstein says he has no plans to make any more violent films.

Weinstein has been behind films such as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction over the years, but he says he has no interest in the slasher genre any more.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the producer said: "I made the movie for my kids, and I wanted to make something my mum could watch too.

"I've done my fair share of exploitation movies and slasher movie, and I'm not going to do that any more. They serve no purpose except to make money."

The Weinstein Company has been behind a wide range of movies over the last year, with the release of The Butler, Philomena and August: Osage County.

Philomena and August: Osage County have both picked up major Oscar nominations: Philomena has a Best Picture nod, while Judi Dench and Meryl Streep are both in the Best Actress race.

The next Weinstein produced film that we are going to see on the big screen, comes in the form of The Imitation Game.

The movie is based on the story of Alan Turing and his work to break the Enigma code during World War II. Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly are both on board the film.
