Friend is best known for his roles in the likes of Pride & Prejudice, The Young Victoria, and The Boy In The Stripped Pyjamas during his career but Hitman: Agent 47 will mark his first major lead in a big action film.

Hitman: Agent 47 is inspired by the popular computer game and sees Aleksander Bach in the director's chair as this character returns to the big screen.

This movie will mark the feature film directorial debut for Bach, while Michael Finch, Kyle Ward, and Skip Woods have penned the screenplay.

A set of four great new images from the film have been released by 20th Century Fox, and we have them for you to take a look at:

Friend will take on the role of Agent 47 in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Zachary Quinto, Ciaran Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann, and Hannah Ware.

Hitman: Agent 47 centres on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research - and forty-six earlier Agent clones -- endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence.

His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

Hitman: Agent 47 is released 27th August.
