Ian McKellen reveals that he is not a big fan of Superman or James Bond.

McKellen has stepped into the superhero film world with his work on X-Men since 2000 and he insists that the X-Men franchise is 'about something' while Superman is not.
And it is not only Superman that the actor doesn't career for as he goes on to call James Bond a 'British twit'
Speaking to Uproxx, the actor said: "X-Men was about something. Superman isn't really about anything. It's a joke. The nerd changes his underpants and becomes a Superman.
"That's James Bond: 'Shaken, not stirred', silly, stupid, British twit... and then, Action Man! But X-Men is about the problems of being a mutant. And we've all felt we're mutants on occasion. So, that was the hook for me."
McKellen took on the role of Magneto for the first time back in 2000 when director Bryan Singer brought X-Men to the big screen; he went on to appear in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand in 2003 and 2006 - all of which enjoyed huge success.
After eight years away from the franchise, McKellen returned to the role last year with X-Men: Days of Future Past, which also saw Singer back in the director's chair for the first time since X2.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released next year, however, we will not be seeing McKellen return to this role that he has made his own over the years.
McKellen has already enjoyed critical success this year with his performance in Mr Holmes, which explored the later years of the iconic sleuth. McKellen's performance has already been tipped as a possible early Oscar contender.
McKellen is currently working on the live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, which will see him play Cogsworth alongside Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Emma Thompson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
