Idris Elba

Idris Elba

Idris Elba is set to join forces with Gemma Arterton for new drama A Hundred Streets.

A Hundred Streets is set to be a film of interweaving stories and characters set in contemporary London - this is the second time that Elba and Arterton have worked together having both starred in RocknRolla.

The movie sees Jim O’Hanlon in the director’s chair as he makes he feature film directorial debut. However, O’Hanlon is no stranger to the director’s chair with TV projects such as Emma, A Touch of Cloth, and House of Saddam under his belt in recent years.

Filming is already underway on A Hundred Streets.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom was the last time that we saw Elba on the big screen, but he has already completed work on No Good Deed, Second Coming, and The Gunman.

Idris has been working on Beasts of No Nation and is set to voice the character of Shere Khan in a new adaptation of The Jungle Book. He has also been linked to a role in King Arthur, the new film from Guy Ritchie.

As for Arterton, she has completed work on Gemma Bovery - in which she takes on the title role - alongside Jason Flemyng and Fabrice Luchini.

She has also been linked to roles in Once Upon a Time in the Kitchen - in which she will lend her voice - and The Keys to the Street.
