Insidious: Chapter 2

Insidious: Chapter 2 has see off Rush at the top of the UK box office.

Insidious: Chapter 2 sees James Wan return to the director's chair to score another #1 movie; following in the footsteps of The Conjuring earlier this summer.

The movie sees us follow the Lambert family once again as their haunting continues.

The film took £2.8 million to secure the top spot, and see off the stiff challenge posed by Rush.

Rush marks the return of director Ron Howard as he bring the F1 rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda to the big screen.

The movie took just over £2 million this weekend and had to settle for second.

The top three was dominated by new entries this week as action film White House Down opened at three with £1.1 million.

About Time fell three places to four, while animation film Justin and the Knights of Valour was the fourth and final new entry at five.

One Direction: This Is Us fell out of the top five as it dropped three places to six.

We're The Millers was down three places this week at seven, while Place was down two at eight.
