Richard Armitage is a favourite here at FemaleFirst, and he will be back on the big screen this summer with Into The Storm.

We have already been treated to a new poster for Into The Storm this week, but now the latest action packed trailer is here.

If you love extreme weather movies, then Into The Storm really does look set to be the film for you:

Into The Storm is the first big screen outing for Armitage since The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - we will see him in the final instalment of The Hobbit trilogy later this year.

The film sees him team up with Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sumpter, Nathan Kress, and Matt Walsh, while Steven Quale is in the director's chair.

Into The Storm will be the first film for Quale since he made his feature film directorial debut with Final Destination 5 back in 2011.

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes.

The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come.

Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

We have been treated to some great extreme weather movies over the years - Twister & The Day After Tomorrow being a couple that sprint to mind - and Into The Storm looks set to be another not to miss.

Into The Storm is released 20th August.
