We are going to see Momoa take on the role of Aquaman for the first time in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - and we are going to be seeing him a series of movies after this debut.

Aquaman is set to be the biggest movie role of Momoa's career and he is thankful that he knows what his future is going to be over the next few years.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor said: "It's awesome as an actor to know what your future is going to be because I have children and I've busted my ass to put food on the table.

"It's awesome knowing that I'm going to be in Justice League because my son is the biggest Batman fan and my daughter loves Wonder Woman.

"It'll be cool for them to see me in something because they're not going to be watching Game of Thrones or Red Road anytime soon, but now they can see Daddy kicking ass in IMAX."

Aquaman is one of the new faces on the Dawn of Justice cast list, as Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, and Jesse Eisenberg are also on board as Wonder Woman, Batman, and Lex Luthor.

Filming has already wrapped on the sequel to Man of Steel, but we won't be seeing the film hit the big screen until 2016.

As for Momoa, we are going to be seeing him back on the big screen later this year with thriller Sugar Mountain. The movie sees him team up with director Richard Gray, while Cary Elwes and Melora Walters are also on the cast list.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released 25th March 2016.
