Feig is set to take up the director's chair for the first film in the Ghostbusters franchise, which looks set to be an all-female instalment.

However, while Lawrence admits that she did meet with the filmmaker, she reveals that she didn't even know that there was a second Ghostbusters film.

Speaking to MTV.com, the actress said: "I actually met with the director. I had dinner with him. I sure did. I didn't know there was a Ghostbusters 2. Who's in 2? Sequels are never as good."

While it remains to be seen if the Oscar winning actress will make an appearance in the film, Rebel Wilson is another name that has been linked to the movie. The actress admitted that she had held talks about the project.

As for Lawrence, she is currently enjoying box office success with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which is already the tenth highest grossing movie of 2014. The final instalment of the movie will be released in autumn of next year.

The actress is set to reunite with director David O'Russell for Joy. The movie will tell the true story of Joy Mangano, who went from struggling single mother to successful entrepreneur - Lawrence is set to play Joy in the film.

This will be Lawrence's third collaboration with O'Russell, having enjoyed success with Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle in recent years.

Lawrence is also set to reprise the role of Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is due to hit the big screen in 2016 and is the sequel to Days of Future Past.
