Jennifer Lawrence may be one of cinema's biggest stars but the actress is set to move behind the camera for the first time to shoot her directorial debut.
Lawrence is set to take up the director's chair on Project Delirium and she told EW that directing is something that has been dreaming about since she was a teenager.
Talking about the upcoming project, she said: "I've signed on to direct something called Project Delirium - it's based on this article about mental warfare in the '60s, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong.
"It's funny, I've wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn't have been ready. Now I actually feel ready."
Lawrence follows in the footsteps of some huge acting names who have stepped behind the camera in recent years, including the likes of Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.
Lawrence's Hunger Games co-star Elizabeth Banks made her debut this year with Pitch Perfect 2, while Chris Evans and Russell Crowe have also made that leap in 2016.
But that doesn't mean that Lawrence is turning her back on action. The actress is currently sitting pretty at the top of the U.S. and UK box office with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which is the final film in the popular franchise.
She will be back on the big screen in the New Year with Joy, a film inspired by the life of Joy Mangano, that sees her reunite with filmmaker David O. Russell; this will be their third feature film together.
Lawrence has also completed work on X-Men: Apocalypse, where she will reprise the role of Mystique, and is filming Passengers with Chris Pratt and Michael Sheen.
There's no word on when shooting on Project Delirium may get under way.
