Assassin's Creed is a movie that has been in the pipeline for an age and Michael Fassbender has been attached to the project for some time... in September the cameras started rolling on the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular computer game.

Now, computer game adaptations have not had the best luck at the box office in recent years, but that has not stopped a terrific cast being assembled for the film.

Fassbender is set to reunite with his Macbeth leading lady Marion Cotillard and now Irons and Gleeson are on board - they are both terrific actors and it is exciting to see them getting involved in this project.

According to Deadline, Irons is set to play the father of Cotillard's character, while Gleeson will play the father of Fassbender's character.

The ever growing and very talented cast has me even more excited for this film - however, we do have over a year to wait before it hits the big screen.

Assassin's Creed sees Justin Kurzel in the director's chair as he reunites with both Fassbender and Cotillard for the first time since they worked on the new adaptation of Macbeth.

Bill Collage, Adam Cooper, and Michael Lesslie are also on board, having teamed up to pen the film's screenplay.

As well as taking on the film's central role, Fassbender is also set to produce the film - this will only be the second time that he has served as producer on a feature film.

Assassin's Creed is released 30th December 2016.
