We haven't see Renner in the Bourne franchise since he made his debut with The Bourne Legacy back in 2012 but we are going to see Damon return to the role of Jason Bourne for a new movie project.

Ever since Renner took on the role of Alex Cross in The Bourne Legacy, there has been talk of the two actors joining forces... something that Renner says he would love to do.

Speaking to Screen Rant, the actor said: Yeah, I mean in two seconds. I love that world. I love the character. If they want to do that, I'm in. there's no 'no' coming from this direction. I don't pull the strings on that...

A sequel to The Bourne Legacy is still believed to be in the pipeline - however, no cast or release date has yet been announced for the film.

As for Renner, he is currently sitting pretty at the top of the U.S. box office as Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation has stormed to the top spot. The movie sees Renner reprise the role of William Brandt for his second appearance in the action franchise.

Rouge Nation is the second box office hit for Renner this summer - the first coming in the form of Avengers: Age of Ultron, where he reprised the role of Hawkeye for the first time since Avengers Assemble.

Age of Ultron has grossed over $1.3 billion at the global box office and is the third highest grossing movie of the year so far - behind Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7.

Renner is currently filming Captain America; Civil War as he steps into this Marvel franchise for the first time. He is back as Hawkeye alongside Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr - who will reprise the roles of Captain America, Black Widow, and Iron Man.

Civil War is based on the iconic comic book story arc and will see the Avengers divided as the government tries to reign them in. Friends will become foes, but who is on which side?

The movie will see Anthony and Joe Russo back in the director's chair, while Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Martin Freeman, Daniel Bruhl, and Paul Bettany are just some of the other names that are on board.
