Jessica Chastain has revealed that she won't be starring in the second series of True Detective.
A story broke yesterday linking the two time Oscar nominated actress with a lead role in the popular detective drama: Woody Harrelson & Matthew McConaughey starred in the first season.
And while Chastain admits to being a big fan of the show, it looks like we won't be seeing her in it.
Speaking to Flicks and Bits, the actress said: "It’s such an awkward thing. That news broke yesterday and it went crazy on the internet. There was so much of an explosion.
"Also it’s an awkward thing because when all that attention happens, it takes away from whoever plays the role.
"I love Woody Harrelson, and I’m gonna watch the second season just like I watched every episode of the first. But I won’t be on it."
However, we will be seeing Chastain star in a strong of movies over the coming twelve months, as she has completed work on Miss Julie, Interstellar and A Most Violent Year.
She is currently working on A Crimson Peak - which is directed by Guillermo del Toro - and will play Marilyn Monroe in Blonde.
