Joe Wright

Joe Wright

Joe Wright has signed up to bring a Peter Pan origins story to the big screen.

The movie is being described as an introductory film to the character and the story and the script has been penned by Jason Fuchs.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is "very high" on its latest project and has made it "one of its priorities".

Wright has been behind the likes of Atonement, Pride and Prejudice and Hanna in recent years, so this would be a very different project for him.

Anna Karenina was the last time we saw Wright in the director's chair as be brought the Leo Tolstoy novel to the big screen last year.

No cast or release date has yet been announced for the film.

The studio's 'Peter Pan' movie is just one of many in production at the moment, as Disney is adapting the children's novel 'Peter and the Starcatchers' with 'The Hunger Games' director Gary Ross at the helm.
