Joel Edgerton has hit out at the commercial aspect of moviemaking.
Edgerton has made his name in recent years with the likes of Animal Kingdom and Warrior but he hates movies that are made just to make money.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter the actor said: "I have an issue with the commercial aspect of moviemaking: I don't see why a movie can't make a lot of money and also be good.
"We see at least two or three of them every year. But there are some s**t movies out there now.
"I hate it when a s**t movie comes out that's obviously made just to make money, and it does make that money and it lets everybody know that it's okay to make s**t movies because you can get rich off of it. I hate those people."
Edgerton has completed work on The Odd Life of Timothy Green and The Great Gatsby.
In The Great Gatsby he takes on the role of Tom Buchanan and stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan.
