Earlier this week Elba said that he would be reprising the role of Heimdall for a single scene alongside Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth in the new movie - a fact that has so far been kept quiet.

As you can imagine, the comments from Elba did send everyone into a bit of excitement as the scene he is talking about could be a post credit moment that will lead into the already planned Thor 3.

And while Whedon hints that he hasn't yet spoken to Elba about his comments, the actor could find himself in a bit of hot water.

Speaking to Vulture, the director said: "Um, should he receive an email from me, there might be an attitude of scold. When you have a cast of 19,000 people, inevitably, once every month, you pick up [a story] and you're like, 'awww' [about spoilers]"

This would be the first time the character of Heimdall has appeared in an Avengers film, while this will be the first appearance of Loki since Thor: The Dark World last year. It was believed that Hiddleston would take no part in Avengers: Age of Ultron at all after playing the villain in Avengers Assemble.

Whedon is back in the director's chair for the film, while Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo & Hemsworth will all return as Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk and Thor in what is set to be a bigger and darker Avengers movie than the first.

We were treated to the first Age of Ultron trailer last week, where we got our first look at Ultron, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch - played by James Spader, Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen - in action.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is already one of the most anticipated films of 2015, and is set to bring Phase Two of Marvel movies to a spectacular close.

It has already been hinted by Kevin Feige that the Avengers line-up could look very different by the end of the new film - and with a whole host of new franchises on the horizon over the next few years; it is going to be an exciting time for all Marvel movie fans.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released 24th April 2015.
