Dame Judi Dench

Judi Dench has revealed that she was not happy when she was killed off at the end of Skyfall back in 2012.

Dench has played the role of M in seven of the Bond movies since 1995, and Skyfall was her third Bond movie with actor Daniel Craig.

When talking about what she has achieved in her career in the last decade, the actress told You magazine: "So much has happened to me in the past 10 years.

"I have played M three more times and was not best pleased when they killed me off in 'Skyfall'."

Skyfall went on to become the biggest Bond movie of all time as it grossed over $1 billion at the global box office at the end of its theatrical run.

Work is set to begin on Bond 24, which will see Sam Mendes back to the director's chair and Craig back on board as 007. Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes are all also expected to return.

Dench is still one of the most in demand actresses in Hollywood, and she says that she has worked hard to not be typecast during her career.

She continued: "All my life I have tried to avoid being typecast or pigeonholed, and when ever anyone says, Oh, you shouldn't play that part,' it only makes me more determined to try."

Dench will be back on the big screen next year as she reprises the role of Evelyn Greenslade in The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which comes three years after the success of the first movie.

John Madden is back in the director's chair, while Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, De Patel, Penelope Wilton, and Celia Imrie will also be reprising their roles.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is released 27th February 2015.
