Kate Beckinsale is in talks for the lead role in The Disappointments Room.
The actress looks set to take on the lead role in the supernatural thriller, a movie that will see her team up with director D.J. Caruso for the first time.
Wentworth Miller has penned the screenplay for the film and follow a mother who drags her family to a country house where she is driven crazy by constant visions of a dead child who haunts the property.
This is the second of Miller's film screenplays to be adapted into a movie; the first coming earlier this year in the form of Stoker.
There is currently no word as to who may be joining Beckinsale on the cast list.
We haven't seen Beckinsale on the big screen since she teamed up with Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel for the remake of Total Recall last summer.
However, she has completed work on The Trials of Cate McCall and
Eliza Graves; the latter is based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe and will be directed by Brad Anderson.
She is currently filming The Face of an Angel - the latest film from director Michael Winterbottom.
