Kristen Bell says she hopes Veronica Mars fans will leave theatres 'satisfied' after seeing the film.

Bell will reprise the role of Veronica Mars this week, in a long awaited film project for the TV show.

A Kickstarter fund was set up to raise money to make the movie last year; $5 million was donated from viewers and fans of the show.

And now Bell is hopeful that the fans will be happy with the movie that she and creator/director Rob Thomas have made.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actress said: "Our Kickstarters who funded the movie are my priority, so I'm a bit nervous ... [well] not nervous, but I'm hoping that everybody leaves the theatres satisfied.

"If new fans like it or people [who] didn't Kickstart the movie, that's just an added bonus for me."

The movie will pick up after the end of the TV show, and sees Veronica Mars now studying to be a lawyer.

However, when she returns home for a reunion, she goes back to her sleuthing when former boyfriend Logan Echolls is charged with murder.

Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni and Krysten Ritter will all star alongside Bell. There will also be some cameo appearances from the likes of James Franco and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Veronica Mars is out now.
