Kristen Stewart has revealed that she has decided to take a break from acting for a while.

Stewart has been promoting her latest movie Camp X-Ray, which has been playing successfully on the festival circuit all year.

The actress says that she has made this decision in recent weeks after working constantly for the last two years.

Speaking to USA Today, the actress said: "I'm taking some time off because I've been working for two years," she explained.

"I'm an actor and that's my art form, and because I started that so young, I've always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create. I'm going to take so much time off.

"I'm going to buy a live-work space in downtown LA and I'm going to make some [stuff] with my hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago.

"I'm making a short film. I'm making a bunch of [stuff]. I don't know how I'll put it out. But I'm not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time."

Camp X-Ray sees Stewart team up with filmmaker Peter Sattler, as he makes his feature film directorial debut with the project.

Do not fear Stewart fans as we are going to be seeing plenty of the actress over the next year with the work that she has already completed.

Clouds of Sils Maria has already been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit and will be released in the UK next May.

Stewart has also completed work on Anesthesia, American Ultra and sci-fi film Equals with Nicholas Hoult.
