Ryan Gosling is set to switch in front of the camera for the director's chair next week as Lost River is set to hit the big screen.

Lost River

Lost River played on the festival circuit last year and now we are going to get to finally see Gosling's feature film directorial debut. It is going to be interesting to see how his acting career and the people he has worked with over the years influences this first movie as a filmmaker.

Gosling has penned the screenplay as well as being in the director's chair, however, we will not be seeing him star in the film. He has assembled one hell of a cast as ChristinaHendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Ben Mendelsohn, Saoirse Ronan, Eva Mendes, and Matt Smith are all on board.

As well as great new poster to enjoy, a new TV spot has also been released showing some terrific new footage:

Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy (Hendricks) a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son Bones (Caestecker) discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery if their family is to survive.

Gosling is just one of the actors that is making the leap into the director's chair this year - Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks are a couple of others - but Gosling looks set to deliver one of the most unique films of 2015.

Lost River is released 10th April.
