Luke Evans

Luke Evans has admitted that vampire movies are his 'cup of tea'.

Evans is back on the big screen this autumn in Dracula untold, which sees him take on the central role of Vlad Tepes.

However, the actor feels that Dracula Untold is something completely different to the vampire and Dracula movies that we have seen over the years.

Speaking to Total Film, the actor said: To be honest with you, vampire films aren't really my cup of tea. But I don't feel like I'm in a quintessential vampire film, because we're telling a different story, which gives it a different entity.

"I certainly didn't want to make another movie that's 'just another Dracula film'. That's why I think the title's appropriate - it's the untold story of the beginnings of one of the most famous vampires who's ever been written about."

Dracula Untold sees Evans team up with director Gary Shore, while Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, and Charles Dance are also on board.

Evans will be back on the big screen later on this year with The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, as he reprises the role of Bard.

He is currently filming High-Rise with Tom Hiddleston and James Purefoy, and is set to remake The Crow.

Dracula Untold is released 3rd October.
