Mikkelsen is on the cast list of the new Star Warsspin-offf - which has finished filming. And while his character has not been named, he dropped a bit of a spoiler in a recent interview.

Speaking to Sky News about the film, he said: "I read the script and it was very beautiful, and Felicity is playing this lovely, strong woman and I play her father." Before adding, "And that was too much. I'm sorry."

Felicity Jones is set to take on the central role of Jyn Erso in the film while Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker, and Diego Luna are just some of the other names that are on board.

The movie is the first spin off since the huge success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens last year and sees Gareth Edwards back in the director's chair.

Edwards has already brought us movies such as Monster and Godzilla but this is the biggest film of his directing career so far.

As for Mikkelsen, we are also going to be seeing him in the Marvel Universe for the first time this autumn as Doctor Strange hits the big screen.

It is not yet clear who Mikkelsen will be playing in Doctor Strange but he is set to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel McAdams.

Doctor Strange is one of the new Marvel franchises of Phase 3 and will be the second of two Marvel films to be released this year - the first being Captain America: Civil War this weekend.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released 16th December.
