Martin Freeman stars alongside Natasha Wanganeen and David Gulpilil in what looks to be one of the most entertaining Netflix original movies to-date; Cargo. Following the story of an infected father who’s slap bang in rural Australia after a violent pandemic outbreak, the film will tell the story of the desperate father who’s seeking a new home for his infant child. In protecting her from the elements however, he’ll also begin to realise he has to do everything he can to protect her from his own ever-changing nature.

This month, a brilliant first look clip for the movie has been revealed, which you can now check out below:

Written by Yolanda Ramke, who also co-directs alongside Ben Howling, Cargo promises to be a zombie movie unlike any other we’ve seen before. In a world that’s so bogged down with zombie franchises and properties, it’s going to have to do something special to ensure that it meets this goal.

We imagine human connection is something that will be central to Cargo and its success, and that Netflix subscribers will flock in their droves to check it out. Exactly how well it does remains to be seen, and as we know the company aren’t very open about the amount of people that watch their content unless it’s astronomical and record-breaking!

Whatever the case may be when Cargo drops, it’s something we can’t wait to sit down and (hopefully!) enjoy.

Cargo comes to Netflix on Friday, May 18, 2018.
