Last month it was announced that Jordan and Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o had been cast - roles not yet known - but this is the first time that Jordan has spoken about the film.

Chatting to the Hollywood Reporter about Black Panther, the actor said: "I'm super excited, especially to put a different spin on it.

"I'm looking forward to working with [director] Ryan [Coogler] once again. It's gonna be a good time."

The movie will see Jordan reunite with filmmaker Ryan Coogler, for what will be their third film project together. The duo has already enjoyed success with Fruitvale Station and Creed in recent years.

This will be the third feature film of Coogler's career, the first time that he has directed a Marvel film, and it will be the first Marvel movie to be directed by an African American.

Chadwick Boseman has been on board the project for some time and will reprise the role of Black Panther - who we were introduced to in Captain America: Civil War.

Andy Serkis has also been linked to the film and is expected to reprise the role of Ulysses Klaue, who we met in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

Black Panther will be one of three Marvel films to hit the big screen in 2018; Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Ant==-Man and the Wasp being the other two.

2016 has already been a hugely successful year for Jordan, who took on the role of Adonis Johnson in Creed.

Black Panther is released 2018.
