Based on the true story of Olympic-class skier Molly Bloom, who ran an exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents, comes upcoming cinematic release Molly’s Game, starring Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Chris O’Dowd and Michael Cera, with Aaron Sorkin in the Director’s Chair. This week a brilliant new trailer for the film has been unveiled, which you can check out below:

Though the tabloids painted Molly in one light, her only ally and criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey soon discovered that there was a lot more to Molly than anybody ever realised.

With players in her poker games that included the royalty of Hollywood, sports stars, business titans and, without her awareness, the Russian mob, she was embedded within a world of glitz, glamour and fortune.

Filming for the movie first started in November of last year in Toronto, Canada and went on debut a little earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival. There it received critical acclaim, with the movie currently sitting with a brilliant score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 30 official reviews.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin had previously said of his two leads: “The casting of Jessica and Idris in the two lead roles is any filmmaker’s dream come true, they’re two of the greatest actors of their generation, paired for the first time, and their chemistry will be electric.”

With twists galore promised and a side to a story that many people thought they already knew everything about, Molly’s Game should be a perfect way to end the year when it hits the big screen this coming December.

Molly’s Game hits cinemas across the UK on December 26, 2017.
