Watts - who has sons Sasha, eight, and Samuel, seven, with the actor - and her spouse are always "interested" in one another's work and find it valuable to discuss their current movies and potential projects together.

She said: "We're both interested in each other's work. And we ask each other for advice, I trust his judgement and I like to think he trusts mine. I could be wrong."

The 'Demolition' actress believes the key to juggling their respective careers with their family life is to be supportive and allow one another to pursue their passions.

She said: "It's about supporting the other. When both parents are in the creative arts, it's not nine-to-five.

"Sometimes our schedules mean we spend a lot more time at home than most parents.

"And then there are times we have to travel for long periods.

"If one of us feels very passionately about a job, the other supports and takes over. That's the nature of the profession. But we always make it work."

While the couple's children haven't yet shown any sign of wanting to follow in their parents' footsteps, Naomi insists she wouldn't try to dissuade them if they did, though she would be reluctant as she knows what a "tough business" it can be.

She said: "They're too young to know. It's hard to tell.

"I would hate to dissuade them from something they love, but it's a tough business, especially for young people - the rejection, the uncertainty.

"I think we'll cross that bridge if or when it happens, and as much as I'll give my opinion, it's their lives."
