Naomie Harris had to move around like "an old lady" for her latest role as a drug addict.

Harris  portrays a woman called Paula, who is battling with cocaine addiction, in her new movie 'Moonlight' and she has admitted she pretended she was a crippled pensioner while she was trying to get into the role.

Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, she said of the daring part: "I move around like an old lady."

The drama film, which is directed and written by Barry Jenkins, is based on the on the play 'In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue' by Tarell Alvin McCraney and explores the story of an African-American Chiron - played by Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders and Alex R. Hibbert - as he struggles to find himself at various stages of his life.

The coming-of-age film is set in three parts - childhood, adolescence and manhood - and will see Chiron battle with a difficult home life, Miami's drug-plagued inner city and his own sexuality as he goes through different stages of his life.

The film's official Twitter page described the movie as: "A film about moments that define us, the people who shape us & the ache of love that can last a lifetime. #MOONLIGHT (sic)."

'Moonlight' is set to have its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on Friday (02.09.16), and is due for release on October 21.
