Ben-Hur is set to hit the big screen this summer and is a remake of the 1959 classic of the same name. A brand new poster for the film has been unveiled.

Ben-Hur

Ben-Hur marks the return of Timur Bekmambetov to the director's chair and I am excited to see the Daywatch filmmaker put his stamp on this well-known tale.

This historical epic is based on the book Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ by Lew Wallace and has been adapted for the big screen by Keith R. Clarke and John Ridley.

Jack Huston is set to take on the title role and features in this great new and action-packed new poster.

Huston is joined on the cast list by Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman, Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, Sofia Black D'Elia, and Rodrigo Santoro as they take on the roles of Messala, Sheik Ilderim, Esther, Naomi (Ben-Hur's mother), Tirzah (Ben-Hur's sister), and Jesus.

After falsely being accused of assassination by boyhood friend Messala (Kebbell), Judah Ben-Hur (Huston), is sentenced to slavery. After five years in the gallery of a Roman slave ship, he escapes and takes on the Roman Empire - and Messala - in a chariot race.

Ben-Hur remains one of the most iconic movies of all time and this new adaptation will bring this tale to the next generation.

Ben-Hur is released 26th August.
