Ben-Hur is being brought back to the big screen this September and will bring this epic tale to a new generation.

Ben Hur

Ben Hur

It was back in 1959 when Charlton Heston played Judah Ben-Hur... and now Jack Huston has taken over the role as he teams up with filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov for the first time.

Bekmambetov has brought us movies such as Night Watch, Day Watch, and Wanted and this is his first feature since Yolki 1914 back in 2014.

It is great to see Bekmambetov back and putting his own spin on this well-known tale. Keith R. Clarke and John Ridley have penned the film's screenplay, which is based on the novel by Lew Wallace.

The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:

Ben-Hur is another big role for Huston and he is joined on the cast list by Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman, Rodrigo Santoro, and Sofia Black-D'Elia.

After falsely being accused of assassination by boyhood friend Messala (Kebbell), Judah Ben-Hur (Huston), is sentenced to slavery. After five years in the gallery of a Roman slave ship, he escapes and takes on the Roman Empire - and Messala - in a chariot race.

Ben Hur is released 7th September.
