Crimson Peak

Crimson Peak is one of the autumn movies that I cannot wait for and the brand new full length - and rather creepy - new trailer has arrived.

Crimson Peak marks the return of Guillermo del Toro to the director's chair - he has also had a hand in penning the screenplay - and this is his first directorial outing since Pacific Rim.

He is no stranger to the gothic horror movie with The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth under his belt and he produced the fantastic The Orphanage back in 2008.

We have been missing a really great horror movie so far this year, and Crimson Peak could well be the film that we have all been waiting for. The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:

Mia Wasikowska is set to take on the central role of Edith Cushing, while Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam are also on board. Crimson Peak will mark the first time that Wasikowska have worked with del Toro - Chastain starred in Mama, which was produced by the director, while Hunnam took on the central role in Pacific Rim.

Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, and the fantastic Doug Jones make up the great line-up. Jones has worked with del Toro many times and brought creations like the Faun, the Pale Man, and Abe Sapien.

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds... and remembers.

Del Toro is one of the best directors around and it is always exciting when a new film of his is on the horizon. I really do think Crimson Peak is not going to disappoint this autumn and I cannot wait to see what he delivers.

Crimson Peak is released 16th October.
