If you are looking for a festive film this December then Krampus is promising to offer something a little different.

Krampus

Krampus

Directed by Michael Dougherty, Krampus is set to explore the well-known festive ghoul and will put a bit of a dark twist on the traditional Christmas movie.

There's still a week to go until Krampus hits the big screen and we have got some terrific new images for you to take a look at:

Krampus is only the second feature film for Dougherty and comes eight years after he made his debut with Trick'r Treat. As well as being in the director's chair, Dougherty has teamed up with Todd Casey and Zach Shields to pen the film's screenplay.

Toni Collette and Adam Scott will lead the cast list and are joined by David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Emjay Anthony, Stefania Lavie Owen with Krista Stadler.

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers.

All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family's home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

There are a handful of festive films heading our way over the next few weeks and Krampus is promising to be one that is not to miss.

Krampus is released 4th December.
