There's just a under a fortnight to go until we get to see Michael Fassbender in action as Macbeth - and it is already being tipped as one of the performances of his career.

Macbeth

Macbeth

This autumn will be a busy time for the popular actor as Macbeth is just one of the projects that we are going to be seeing him in. The other is Steve Jobs and both movies and performances are currently surrounded in Oscar whispers.

We have already been treated to a whole host of fantastic posters and now we have been treated to two more great pieces of artwork - a battle poster and a witches poster:

Macbeth

Macbeth sees Fassbender team up with filmmaker Justin Kurzel for the first time as he returns for his second feature film project; he made his debut back in 2011 with Snowtown and it is great to see him back with a major movie.

Fassbender and Kurzel are currently working together on a new movie project as filming on Assassin's Creed, which is based on the popular computer game, is under way.

However, it is not all about Fassbender in Macbeth, as Marion Cotillard has also been winning over the critics with her performance as Lady Macbeth. We have already seen Cotillard win a Best Actress Oscar for La Vie en Rose and was nominated for Two Days, One Night... she could well be in the Oscar race again.

Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Harris, David Thewlis, Jack Reynor, and Paddy Considine make up a very talented and exciting cast list.

Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.

Macbeth is released 2nd October.
