Set in the summer of 1983 in northern Italy, the movie introduces Elio Perlman (Chalamet), a 17-year-old American-Italian teen who spends his days in his family’s villa, transcribing music, flirting with his friend Marzia and enjoying a lazy lifestyle.

When charming, 24-year-old American scholar Oliver (Hammer) turns up at the villa, tasked with helping Elio’s father (Stuhlbarg), he and Elio discover the beauty of discovering a desire over the course of a summer that will change their lives forever.

Described as “beautifully erotic”, “ravishing filmmaking”, “triumphant and heartbreaking” by the critics, the movie looks set to be one of the must-see events of the year.

Call Me By Your Name officially hits cinemas across the UK on October 27.
