Based on the novel of the same name by André Aciman, and ahead of release in two weeks’ time, a brand new clip has been released for upcoming romantic film Call Me By Your Name. Check it out below:

Starring Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar and Esther Garrel in the leading roles, the movie tells the story of 17-year-old American-Italian boy Elio Perlman (Chalamet), taking place in the summer of 1983 in northern Italy. Spending his days in his family’s 17th century villa, he lazily transcribes music and flirts with one of his closest friends. When charming 24-year-old scholar American Oliver (Hammer) makes an appearance however, things get a little complicated for the pair.

At the villa to work on his doctorate and tasked with aiding Elio’s father (Stuhlbarg) as the annual summer intern, he discovers the beauty of an awakened desire alongside Elio, over the course of a summer that will change both of their lives forever.

Luca Guadagnino is the man in the Director’s Chair and bringing the story to the big screen, and he’s somebody that already has plans to do a sequel set seven years after the events depicted here.

He said, according to Screen Daily: “I want to do a sequel because Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar, Esther Garrel – they are all gems. The texture we built together is very consistent. We created a place in which you believe in the world before them. They are young but they are growing up.”

Whether or not that sequel happens remains to be seen, but for now we need to focus on exactly how well the original movie does. With the love that surrounds the novel by Aciman so high, there’s a huge level of expectation for when the story comes to movie theatres, so we hope the reactions and box office reflect the joy people have already taken from this life-changing tale.

Call Me By Your Name hits cinemas across the UK on October 27.
